The member representing Okene l state constituency in the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed has charged local government and ward executives of the All Progressives Party (APC) in Okene to work hard and ensure second term victory for Governor Yahaya Bello.
Lawi gave the charge when he visited Okene local government council and all the APC wards executives across his constituency.
He noted that 2016 electoral victory and subsequent accomplishments of Gov. Bello in the last two years were due to the total support from all the party faithfuls.
While commending the party executives for supporting the Gov. Bello-led government up till this present moment, Hon. Lawi said: “With your support we have been able to do a lot of things. Your support has been very tremendous and has taken us thus far.
“If things are running well, it is the collective support the government receives from you all.”
Hon. Lawi, commended the State Chairman of APC, Hon. Abdullahi Bello for his great efforts to sustain the party to this great extent.
“Work has started, as we work for the party, let us make sure we all deliver our polling units to all APC candidates comes 2019 general election”.
Also in his address, Hon. Lawi, urged APC women to join hands in the sensitisation of fellow women ahead of 2019 elections.
He said: “I appeal to all our women to continue the campaign at the grassroots for our party, especially to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and collections of the Permanent Voter’s Card (PVCs) to ensure active participation in the election and thereby, ensure Gov. Bello’s victory”
He also stressed the need for continuous peace, harmony and unity among women to deliver more votes for the party in 2019 elections.
While also commending the effort of all the party executives in piloting progressively, affairs of the party both at State, local and ward levels, Lawi noted that the state government had exceeded 30 per cent affirmative action for women and urged women to participate more in politics and recruit their children as well for the victory of the party in 2019.
Lawi also congratulated the new executives on their recent election as the party leaders in the state, local and ward level, describing it, “as a round peg in a round hole. I have no doubt in my mind of your abilities to deliver.
“God will surely continue to stand by you all in all your endeavours.
“APC is fully on ground in Kogi State and I therefore, appeal to all the members of the party to work towards the victory of the party in the next year general elections,” he said.
The programme which lasted for over seven hours also had in attendance so many women, youths supporters, as well as APC stalwarts.
Earlier, Christian and Muslim prayers were offered for Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed, the governor, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello and all the party faithfuls in the State as well as victory for the party in 2019 general polls
