Member of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed, has charged women and youth in Kogi State to participate actively in politics to lift the condition of the womenfolk and youths.
Hon. Lawi, representing Okene I State Constituency in a statement through his media aide, Comrade Danfulani Lukman, in Abuja on Sunday, said the condition of women and youths in the country might never improve unless more women and youths engage in partisan politics.
He charged women and youths in Kogi State to vie for positions in the upcoming elections in the state comes 2019 to make the difference, especially at the grassroots.
The lawmaker argued that women as home builders should take interest in politics to make visible contributions to nation building.
“As we prepare for the next coming elections, I urge women and youths not to only participate in the voting aspects but to ensure they are in the race.”
Lawi also advised women and youths, who were given various appointments to use their positions to better the lot of women and youths.
The lawmaker lauded women and youths in Kogi State for the interest they had shown in skills acquisition programmes, saying that the development would empower the women and youths.
