The National Association Ebira Students/Joint Campus Committee on Sunday presented an award of excellence to Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed a day after Ashengwuni women association decorated him with Akoko Ohinoyi traditional attire.
The representative of NAES/JCC Lagos State Chapter and General Secretary of Lagos State University, LASU, met with Hon Lawi on his visit to lagos state yesterday.
Speaking, the President of NAES/JCC Lagos state, Comrade Dauda Adeiza thanked Hon. Lawi AT Ahmed for his fatherly support for students of Kogi State across the nation, especially on his recent motion calling for an end of extortion of students and motion calling on government in giving out scholarship to all the indigenes of Kogi State students studying medicine and surgery both home and abroad which has produced smooth academic system in the state.
“Hon. Lawi recognizes the importance of students, that’s a major reason why we are here today. And he has joined our association to monitor, liberate and motivate students across the state. Lets note that, there are two values of life, recognition and appreciation, recognition is yours, while appreciation is ours. Having recognized us, we appreciate you”, he stated.
The Students further called on Hon. Lawi to assist them in talking to kogi state government to set up ICT centers in different campuses across Kogi State, so as to help subsidize the cost of printing, research and other academic activities.
Hon. Lawi assured the students that as the current able Governor has continues to improve the quality of education across the state by investing in infrastructure and developing teachers and student capacity, himself and other like minded progressives will continue to support and compliment the effort of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.
