KOSCEPA DG Engages International Market Traders’ Association on Strategic Collaboration

The Director General of Kogi State Commodity Exchange, Export Promotion and Market Development Agency (KOSCEPA), Hon. Victor Adewale Omofaiye, recently met with the International Market Traders’ Association Lokoja, to discuss collaborative opportunities. The meeting focused on aligning the objectives of KOSCEPA with the interests of market stakeholders to boost trade and economic activities in the state.

During the interaction, Hon. Omofaiye introduced KOSCEPA to the association, highlighting its core mandate to enhance commodity exchange, promote export initiatives, and drive market development across Kogi State. He emphasized the importance of synergy between the Agency and market operators to achieve sustainable growth and deliver on the vision of the Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo. Hon. Omofaiye stressed that the Agency’s mission aligns with the administration’s commitment to improving market infrastructure, creating opportunities for traders, and supporting economic diversification.

Responding on behalf of the association, its Chairman, Alhaji Sani Yusuf, commended the state government for establishing KOSCEPA at a time when the market sector requires significant attention and strategic intervention. He acknowledged the leadership of Governor Ododo, noting that the Agency’s creation demonstrates a commitment to advancing the state’s market development initiatives and improving the overall business environment. Alhaji Sani assured the Director General of the association’s readiness to work closely with KOSCEPA in achieving shared goals.

In his remarks, Hon. Omofaiye assured the association of KOSCEPA’s readiness to address their concerns and identify areas for mutual benefit. He emphasized the Agency’s dedication to ensuring the success of its initiatives by working closely with market leaders, traders, and other stakeholders. He also highlighted the importance of ongoing dialogue to identify challenges and opportunities in the sector.

The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding of the need to work together in addressing key issues affecting market operations and development in Lokoja and beyond.
