Kolawole, Omodara and Olorunleke to Rejuvenate Kabba-Bunu APC

The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon, Mathew Kolawole has promised a total re-jig of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area. This according to him will reposition the party for future electoral  success.
He made the statement at the APC Stakeholders meeting on Saturday.
Earlier, the party chairman, Hon. Mosunle Elisha welcomed everyone to the meeting and appealed that party faithfuls should learn to spread good news about the party as that is the best way  the party can be re-branded. He urged all party loyalists to work hard about repositioning the party as there is no alternative to being in the ruling party.
The Administrator of  Kabba/Bunu LGA, Hon. Moses Olorunmola Olorunleke urged everyone to double their efforts at repositioning the party, saying; “we have to strife hard to ensure our great party remains very strong and strong enough to withstand any party as that is the only way we can remain in the main stream of political benefits”.
The State Security Adviser, Cdr Jerry Omodara (Rtd), who hosted the meeting at his Oke-Offin residence, took time to explain the policies of government to the people at the meeting especially as regards the much rumoured non-payment of salaries.
He explained that government has concluded plans to begin the trial of those involved in the fraudulent activities of misappropriation and embezzlement of state fund and those involved in falsification of academic qualifications and results. He explained that those civil servants owed more than 2 months salary are majorly those that are  involved in either age and certificate falsification and few omissions.
Omodara further hinted that the Governor has however magnanimously pardoned those in the category of age falsification and salary restored for payment.
According to him, the immediate past government in the State took bond and failed to utilise it in viable projects that are abandoned across the State, the loans  the current Government is paying huge amount to service.
Comdr Omodara said the Government is thinking of selling some of the unaffordable projects as Government has no much to do with business.
Omodara urged the party faithfuls to continue to defend the government policies as that is the only way the party can be strengthened.
The Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Kolawole urged everyone to double their efforts at repositioning the party as there is no alternative to being in the ruling party.
He explained that the governor has good intention for the state but he is incapacitated by the dwindling resources at the disposal of the state.  The situation, according to the Speaker, is worsened by the continuous servicing of loans owed by previous administrations in the state.
The Speaker, in his quest to reposition the party, informed everyone of the immediate commencement of ward meetings. To this effect, he donated #300,000.00 to the ward excos to immediately hold meeting at every ward.
Mr. Wemi Jones (FCIB), a House of Representatives aspirant and chairman of the ‘Reconciliation and Ward Tour Committee’, while presenting the report of the committee encouraged all of party stakeholders to embrace genuine reconciliation.
Speaking further, he informed all to be encouraged to be good information mongers of the party and the government.
He encouraged the government to rev up the image laundering as the negative news coming out largely outweighs the positive news about the government.
The Speaker, who had earlier received the report of the ‘Reconciliation and Ward Tour Committee’, promised to help the committee raise the needed N2million fund needed to embark on the ward tour before the end of December.
He constituted another 7 man committee to review the report of the committee.
Kolawole said he would be meeting with the ward chairmen,secretaries, women leaders and youth leaders to map out positive ways of rejuvenating the APC.
Hon Jethro Funsho Oni (Chop-chop), a former member of Kogi State House of Assembly, who recently aligned with Team GYB, encouraged party loyalists to join hands with the government.
He urged them to disregard negative reports coming from PDP saying the criticism were due to the boldness of Alh. Yahaya Bello to embark on the reforms citing the clocking-in system, which according him, has permanently laid to rest the issue of ghost workers among others numerous innovations of the Governor.
He said he got attracted to the APC because of the openness of the party leaders and the good innovations of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Dignitaries at the meeting include the chairman of Elders Forum of Kabba/Bunu, High Cheif Aliu Olumeyan, Hon Abel Obafemi, Principal Confidential Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Hon Gabriel Ojo, Special Adviser to the Speaker.
Also in the meeting are; Hon Jagun Olakunle, SSA on Security to the Governor, Hon Ojo Sunday, SSA to the Speaker, Cheif Olugbemi Femi; Tony Oloniruha and Kehinde Afolabi CPS, Chief Protocol Officer and Special Assistant to the Speaker respectively.
Others are Mr. Alfred Dare (Alasca), Hon Julius Arokoyo, the Special Assistant on GYB Connect and Hon Gboyega.
The meeting was also attended by all ward APC chairmen and excos, political appointees from Kabba/Bunu Local Government and other stakeholders Local Government.
The highlight of the meeting was the introduction of Mr. Aaron Baiyemo, a former Local Government Treasurer, who came to join the party.
