Dearly beloved Kogites,
Kogi is so dear and important to me to allow it choke to death. My concern is premised on the fact that we are too blessed a state to perpetually remain in darkness in all spheres of life. For how long shall we continue to point accusing fingers at each other for the wrongs that permeate the length and breadth of the state? It is not really about the personality of Governor Yahaya Bello. What should preoccupy our minds is simply how to ensure that Kogi is fixed for the good of all its citizens.
People, we are all indebted to our dear state in one way or the other. My major emphasis has always been that you must not be in government before you could contribute to healthy moves geared towards putting Kogi on the path of genuine development. Those in power must as a matter of responsibility come to terms with the fact that they indeed have a lot to gain should they humble themselves to engage or consult with people who they know have the intellectual capacity to make serious inputs into their assignments. Wearing the toga of I-know-it-all is a sure way to failure.
Dear all, It is our collective responsibility to make sure that things work in our state. Ego, pride and narrow considerations must be put aside if we are serious about realizing the Kogi state of our dream. Stooping before a dwarf won’t cost a giant his height. So, it is high time the array of Kogi intelligentsia and privilegentsia buried whatever ill-feelings they nurse against the present system in Kogi state in the overall interest of the state and her people.
To those in the opposition; you’ve fought a good fight, and the apex court has delivered its judgement. I understand that some of you may still be aggrieved, but it shouldn’t be for too long if you truly mean well for the state. Now is the time for you to rally round the government to realize the Kogi state of our dream. Kindly come up with constructive criticisms and solutions on how best to fix our state. This is no time for politics.
The government should be supported in words and deeds for it to deliver on its promises to the people, whilst we ensure probity, accountability and transparency in the utilization of state resources.
GYB government must equally strive hard to ensure that Kogites of all shades are carried along and made to feel the impact of ‘Next Level’ that the APC as a political platform has promised Nigerians. We need to SEE and FEEL Good Governance in our dear state!
God bless all Kogites
God bless Kogi State
God bless Nigeria
