#KogiGovRace: Critical Stakeholders, Elders Adopt Wada as PDP Candidate, Power to Rotate in 2019

Kogi State Critical stakeholders of the PDP from the three senatorial district, and the Elders Advisory Council, have unanimously endorsed the re-election bid for another term in office, of Capt Idris Wada, and also adopted him as the party’s sole candidate in the forth coming governorship election slated for November.

 

At a well attended meeting, Chaired by Alh Sule Iyaji, the stakeholders resolved to aside the endorsement of Capt Wada as the party’s candidate ahead the governorship poll, agreed that power rotation be entrenched in the state body politics.

 

The meeting resolved that after the tenure of the incumbent, power should rotate between the west and central senatorial district of the state.

 

The decision to adopt Capt Wada, Alh Iyaji disclosed was borne out of his monumental achievements in the last three and half years.

 

The decision to allow power shift, Alh Iyaji said was to engender unity and a sense of belonging, said machinery to achieve a smooth power rotation to the West or Central Senatorial District after Wada’s tenure is to be worked out.

 

Alh Iyaji,  urged all stakeholders of the party to work in ensuring that the major objectives reached at the meeting is sustained.

 

Among those present at the meeting were, Alh Sule Iyaji, Chief Patrick Adaba, Prince Olushola Akanmode, the Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, and a host of other party faithful.

 

In a remarks, Capt Idris Wada, accepted the call by the stakeholders and Elders to run another term in office.

 

The governor described the his first term as challenging, occasioned by litigation and a drastic decline in the resources acruing to the state, however said the state made remarkable progress  on all front, especially in human and infrastructure development.

 

The governor said he is now better experienced to move the state forward, promised to justify the confidence the people reposed on him.
