A group under the aegis of Kogi New Agenda (KNA) has advised the leadership of the All Progressives Congress to conduct a transparent primary election devoid of manipulation in order to make it acceptable to all members of party in Kogi State.
Addressing a press conference in Lokoja, the National Coordinator of the group, Folorunso Olusola, also advised the national leadership of the party against having any preferred or anointed candidate for the primary election slated for August.
According to him, the time to effect positive and generational change has come. Hence, members of the party should give total support to the governorship aspiration of Yahaya Bello as he remains the best agent of change the state needs.
Olusola, who lamented the backwardness of the state occasioned by bad governance, said the vision of the group was to see a Kogi state that is free from the shackles of political impunity, poverty, under development, insecurity, corruption, greed and hopelessness.
The group, which canvassed support for Yahaya Bello to pick the sole APC governorship ticket, said it planned to reach out to party executives and delegates ahead of the primary election of the APC so that they could vote Yahaya Bello in the spirit of the desired change.
