Nigeria Vice president, Professor Yemi Osibanjo has reiterated federal government’s commitment to resuscitate of Ajaokuta iron and steel company.
The vice president made the remark in Okene during the zonal APC rally on Tuesday.
He informed the gathering that the President Mohammadu Buhari-led administration is working hard and holding meetings with major industrialists across the globe to resuscitate the iron and steel industry which he described as the bedrock of economic development.
Prof Osinbajo said arrangements are on going to ensure that rehabilitation works commence at the factory sight and smooth operation starts immediately.
“Nigerian will soon smile as efforts are on going to ensure that the factory resume operation with out further delay the government knows the importance of iron and steel in the social and economic development of a developing nation’.
He urged the people of the state to caste their votes for APC flag bearer Prince Abubakar Audu so that the state will not be the only minority state in the entire north central region.
“Kogi state should join the winning team in the north central Nigeria as its stand to benefit immensely from the wave of change across the region and nation”.
He then presented the party flag to Prince Abubakar Audu and his deputy Abiodun James Faleke.
