The national chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief John Odigie Oyegun said that the party will win the governorship election in Kogi State.

Oyegun stated this during the inauguration of National Campaign Committee for Kogi State election in Abuja at the party’s headquarters yesterday.

He said that Kogi election would be the first election for the party to test its winning ways since after the last general election. He said the party was able to defeat and remove more monstrous regime at the centre saying, the election will not be a big problem for the party.

The chairman announced the appointment of Governor Abubakar Bello of Niger State as the chairman of the campaign committee with all the governors from the north central as members.

Others are the director general of the candidate, former governor of Osun State Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Ifeanyi Ararumi, while the deputy national chairman, Sen. Lawal Shuaibu will serve as the secretary to the committee.

The candidate of the party Prince Abubakar Audu told the crowd that he would return Kogi State to APC saying the state that used to be the fastest growing state is today the most backward in the country.

Among those present at the occasion were all the governors from the north central zone. Some of them include Governors Abubakar Bello (Niger); Abdulfatah Ahmed (Kwara); Simon Lalong (Plateau); and Samuel Ortom (Benue).
