In a bid to enhance infrastructure development in Kogi State, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Mohammed Ahovi Yusuf, on Tuesday, met with stakeholders in Lokoja to discuss modalities for effective project execution.
Engr Mohammed Yusuf met with the House Committee on Works, contractors, and the Managing Director of Kogi Road Maintenance Agency (KOGROMA), Engr. Yunusa Alhassan, to foster synergy and smooth working relationships.
The meeting, which was aimed at facilitating swift execution of ongoing road projects in the state also served as a familiarisation visit to the Commissioner of Works by the House Committee on Works on his new appointment as the Commissioner for Works.
Hon. Seyi Bello, Vice Chairman while speaking on behalf of the Chairman of the House Committee on Works, Hon. Umar Yahaya representing Omala State Constituency, congratulated the commissioner on his appointment and emphasized the need for collaboration in order to bring more dividends of Democracy to the people of Kogi State.
Engr Mohammed Yusuf, in his remarks, appreciated the committee members’ tenacity and dedication to the state’s betterment, assuring them of his readiness for harmonious collaboration. He praised the committee’s efforts, saying, “We are aware of your wondrous exploits, and we can only pray that Almighty Allah blesses and protects you all.”
He also acknowledged the governor’s commitment to infrastructure development, saying, “Under my watch, the Ministry of Works will never relent in efforts to complement the good works of our amiable Governor, His Excellency, Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo.”
The meeting demonstrated the Kogi State Government’s commitment to infrastructure development, synergy, and collaboration to drive growth and development for the benefit of the state.
