Kogi Workers Will Soon Join National Health Insurance Scheme – Wada

Civil Servants in Kogi State are soon to join the National Health Insurance Scheme as it has been described as a veritable platform to providing quality services to employees.

Capt. Idris Wada, Kogi State Governor stated this when he received the Technical Committee Report for the enrollment of Kogi State workers into the National Health Insurance Scheme.

The Governor described the health need of its workers as a factor to improved productivity, said a detail study of the report with the view to implementing the scheme would be carried out.

Represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi the NHIS he disclosed will enable the workers to access effective health care through efficient payment of Kogi State workers.

Submitting the report, Dr. Idris Omede, Kogi State Commissioner for Health, amongst the Committee’s recommendation called for adequate sensitization, enactment of Health Insurance Scheme Act in the State, also called for the setting up of an Implementation Committee.

In their separate speeches, Moses Atakpa, Kogi State Head of Service and Comrade James Odaudu, the State NLC Chairman, described the scheme as laudable, added that it will aid the improve health of worker and increased productivity.
