The negotiation meeting between Kogi state government and organised Labour over issues that led to the ongoing strike in the state yesterday recorded success as both parties had resolutions on many areas of their disagreement.
While the labour team, after the progress made in the meeting, resolved to feed its State Executive Council (SEC) back and return for the final meeting today, the government team led by the Deputy Governor, Elder Simon Achuba has assured of a fruitful agreement with the union tomorrow.
Achuba, who spoke at the end of the meeting, expressed hope that the issues between government and labour would be resolved amicably to enable workers return back to their duty posts.
The state chairman of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Ojo Ranti Mathew said the meeting with government made a lot of progress while expressing hope on the out come of the labour team’s meeting with the NEC of the union tomorrow morning.
