Towards ensuring that Kogi State maximises its abundant tourism and other potentials, conscious efforts the Government disclosed is been made to ensure adequate security of lives and properties in the State.
Capt. Idris Wada, the Kogi State Governor, made the disclosure when he received Cadet ASP’s Course 26, 2012 and Cadet Inspectors Course 41, 2012 from Police Academy, Wudil Kano, who are on a one month’s attachment course to the State.
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Yomi Awoniyi, said aside pockets of crisis usually caused by hoodlums, the State he noted is generally peaceful for tourism and businesses.
The Governor disclosed that the State owes the prevailing peace to the efforts of the Nigerian Police Force and other security agencies in the State, assured them of Government’s continued logistic support.
Capt. Wada, described Kogi as a State with limitless opportunities inspite its meagre resources, said it has in abundance rich human capital and blessed with divers natural resources.
The Governor used the visit to warn criminals and trouble makers to stay clear of the State as it will step up its commitments towards ensuring that people go about their legitimate businesses unhindered.
Earlier in his speech, Deputy Commissioner of Police Operations, Zanna Mohammed, said the cadets as part of their training have visited several sites of importance in the State, thanked the State for the hospitality showed on the cadets.
