Senator Smart Adeyemi has described Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as a courageous and detribalized leader who believes in fairness and equity.
Adeyemi made this known while addressing supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the Kogi West mega rally in Kabba on Tuesday.
The former lawmaker said Kogi West will lead the campaign to tell the whole world the truth about Governor Bello. He noted that the governor’s achievements will be made known to all.
He announced that Kogi West will commence ‘New Politics’ from January 2018.
“We are with President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello. The game has changed. It is a new ball game, and we are with the game changers. Kogi West will commence new politics from January 2018.
“In the past, under PDP, monies meant for local governments were shared among eminent personalities. Names of their children and wards were smuggled into workers’ salary schedule but we thank Governor Bello for the courage to sanitize the state civil service from the rot that had for long inhibited the progress of the state. For a first term governor to damn all consequences to weed out bad elements in the civil service through staff verification shows that Governor Bello’s interest is not personal but to develop Kogi state.
“We are satisfied with you, Governor Yahaya Bello. Since you came on board, you have pursued equity, fair play and justice. You have given to our people some juicy appointments that we have not had before, and you have dotted our landscape with developmental projects that are of great importance to our people,” he said.
Adeyemi, however, appealed to Governor Bello to pay all the salaries arrears his government is owing civil servants in the state, stressing that it was the only thing Bello’s detractors are using to blackmail him and soil his good work.
