Ahead of the forthcoming 2015 general elections, major stakeholders in Kogi West senatorial district have been enjoined to respect and uphold the age long existing power sharing formula for all elective positions, particularly the zoning arrangement for the upper chamber of the national assembly.
The immediate past secretary to Kogi State government, Alhaji Musa Ahmadu gave this advice last Saturday.
Alhaji Ahmadu who is widely rumoured to have gaze on the senate seat in the next dispensation, pointed out that political office seekers in the Kogi West axis should shun what he called personal greed and inordinate ambition in their political pursuits.
He posited that it was the implementation of the existing zoning arrangement in the area between the Okun people and Lokoja/Koton Karfe axis that had produced former senators like Tunde Ogbeha and Smart Adeyemi who is currently serving his second tenure in the senate.
Alhaji Ahmadu maintained that it would amount to an act of injustice and abuse of privilege if the people of Koton Karfe/Lokoja are denied the opportunity to produce the next senator from the zone, saying common and good conscience should be allowed to prevail.
The former SSG also bared his mind on his rumoured senatorial ambition in 2015 and declared that he is still in the process of consultation with relevant stakeholders in the zone to determine his next line of action on the issue.
He further called on the PDP members in the area to continue to work for the growth of the party and give unalloyed support for the administration of Capt. Idris Wada in his transformation agenda to propel the state to greatness.
