Kogi West senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Otunba Dino Melaye has said his people have been grossly misrepresented in the National Assembly in the last eight years.
Melaye speaking while donating water pumping machines to the people of Karaworo area of ward C in Lokoja local government promised adequate and quality representation if elected into the senate in the February 14 election.
He said his decision to provide the water pumps followed several ignored pleas to the PDP-led Kogi State government by the community for urgent intervention to their water situation.
A community leader in the area, Alhaji Yeriman Salihu Abbas said Melaye had proven that he would run people oriented programmes if elected into the senate.
“We wrote to government about the water situation in Karaworo but nothing was done; we have to set out early in search of water because the pump here has spoilt, but with this gesture from our candidate I can say our days of looking for water has come to an end,” Abbas said.
Speaking earlier, an APC chieftain Mallam Abdulmalik Suleiman urged Nigerians to vote massively for APC at all levels, describing Melaye as their man.
