Director General on Media and Publicity to the Governor of Kogi State, Kingsley Fanwo has told journalists in Lokoja that the proposed APC Rally in Kabba is to drum support for President Muhammadu Buhari and the Governor of Kogi State, Alh. Yahaya Bello.
He said the people of Kogi West are poised to use the occasion to show the world that they are solidly behind Mr. President and Governor Yahaya Bello.
His words: “It is true that we are holding the Mother of Rallies in Kogi West next week to show our support for Mr. President and Governor Yahaya Bello.
“We are people of honour who appreciate the giant strides of Mr. President. We also appreciate the reforms our Governor is carrying out in the State and how he has been mending the broken walls of the State by the previous administrations.
“Kogi West people also want to use the occasion to thank the Governor for the projects he is executing in our area and for the appointments our people are given to serve the state.
“Our leaders, Senator Smart Adeyemi, Rt. Hon. Kolawole Matthew, Dr (Mrs) Folashade Arike Ayooade and others are working round the clock to ensure a hitch-free rally”.
Fanwo dismissed insinuations in some quarters that the rally is a “decoy political program by intending aspirants”, saying the rally is to honour two great leaders in Buhari and Bello.
“It is not true that it is a campaign program for Senatorial aspirants. It is focused on our President and Governor Yahaya Bello. The issue of Senate and other positions has not come up now. When it is time, competent and respected people will be fielded. We only need to remind PDP that our party is firmly in charge of Kogi State”, he said.
