Leaders and other stakeholders of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi West senatorial district have hailed Governor Yahaya Bello’s political dexterity and commitment to unity, fairness and equity.
The leaders made this known at a gratitude dinner in Lokoja on Friday to commemorate the party’s overall victory at the just concluded governorship polls and specifically in Kogi West.
Director General, Kogi West All Progressives Congress Campaign Council, Hon. Funsho Olumoko, commended Governor Bello for his courage and the spirit to have Kogi state liberated especially from ethnic bigotry.
Olumoko stated that the victory recorded by APC governorship candidate, Alhaji Usman Ododo, is testament to dedication to a renewed hope.
“Our victory is borne out of days-long preparedness of our able mentor, strategist and political mathematician – His Excellency Governor Adoza Yahaya Bello, who in his sheer wisdom saw farther into the political future, and decided to equip, engage and awaken us with the strategic foresight and energy.
“It was really a reawakening experience in the past few months of rigorous campaign meetings and consultations.
“To our dear governor, our leader, I salute your courage sir for the spirit to have Kogi state liberated especially from ethnic bigotry and the likes.
“It was an impressive voyage, though tasking but attributive and rewarding. Not only to me as an experience alone but also on the triumphant entry of our candidate as governor elect,” he said.
Olumoko saluted Governor Bello for ensuring a peaceful electioneering process and peace in the post election period.
He acknowledged the immense contributions of dependable men of capacity at various points who were particularly dogged, result oriented and became veritable instruments for the victory of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in that governorship poll in Kogi West.
He assured them that their labour will not go unrewarded.
A former Deputy Governor of the state, Arc. Abayomi Awoniyi who was the chairman of the occasion, said that the coming together of Kogi West to execute the victory for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, was indeed remarkable.
He added that the region had received the greatest endorsement from the state governor and leader of the party who recognised the remarkable contribution Kogi West made towards the victory of the party.
While he appreciated the governor for giving the right leadership and providing the opportunity for equal participation he alluded that much of the victory is as a result of his abilities to plan and also stick to it.
Awoniyi admonished Kogi West stakeholders to work together with the Governor-elect to deliver on the Kogi agenda and the several expectations of good governance placed on him.
Speaking with Kogi Reports at the event, Hon. Richard Osaseyi, the Director General of Ijumu Campaign Council for Ododo/Joel, said the electorate in Kogi West senatorial district deserved commendation for their unflinching support for APC at the poll.
Osaseyi expressed gratitude to leaders, women and youth in Ijumu local government for their trust and assured them that the incoming administration will put smiles on their faces.
He stated that the Governor-elect, Alhaji Usman Ododo, is a man of his word and will make good his campaign promises.
