It was goal galore for Kogi United in the Nigeria National League, NNL Week 21 encounter on Saturday as they recorded an emphatic 5-0 win over Dynamic Sporting Solutions, DSS FC of Kaduna in Lokoja.
Ismaila Gata scored twice in the first half making it his second brace of the league with other goals coming from Olaitan Adebayo, Oketola Opeyemi and Odeyemi Ebenezer.
Chairman of Kogi United, Abdul Adama expressed delight with the outcome of the match and commended the performance of the team.
Coach of the Confluence State club, Abdul Biffo who expressed delight in his players’ performance dedicated the victory to the club fans and supporters who have always been there for the Wada Boys.
“I’m delighted with this victory, not just the result but the players’ reaction and attitude to the match, they fight for all balls which makes it difficult for our opponent to play, I hope they will replicate this form in our subsequent games.
I want to dedicate this victory to our fans who have always been behind us, at times when we don’t play well, they still keep on cheering us on, so today’s performance and resounding victory is for them, we urge them to keep on getting behind us as we promise better performance,” said Biffo.
Two goal hero, Ismail Gata, who was elated with yet another brace for Kogi United said his wish was to score more Goals to help Kogi United achieve greatness at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Head Coach of DSS FC, Ishaya Jatau said that the world cup break and fasting was the cause of his side’s heavy defeat against Kogi United.
He noted that Kogi United players were fitter than his boys and deserved the victory just as he still keeping high hope of finishing the league on a high.
The victory has however helped Kogi United who will play Mighty Jets in their next match to amass 34 points from 21 games.
