Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi has assured that the administration of Capt Idris Wada would continuously strive to offer purposeful leadership to the people.
The State Deputy Governor gave remarks when he received in audience, members of Kogi State Traders and Market leaders Association of Nigeria who were on a courtesy visit to declare their support for Capt Idris Wada.
Awoniyi who thanked the Association for the support for the governor, said the present administration has within the resources available, made the well-being of the people a priority.
Despite the challenge occasioned by paucity of funds, Awoniyi maintained that the administration has kept to its promise of improving the living condition of the people.
Awoniyi described the governor as a manager of resources, said the state amidst the financial difficulties is having a good financial standing in payment of salaries as well as in meeting the yearning of the people, appealed for the understanding of the people in the face of the present economic realities.
The Deputy Governor, appealed to the Association to join hands with the administration in finding solution to improving the sanitary condition of markets in the State, disclosed that waste generated mostly from markets and dumped on roadside have constituted a major challenge to the government.
The Deputy Governor, appealed to the Association to be a little patient with the administration, disclosing that efforts would be made to offer support to the Association and to others in the state as soon as the finances of the administration improves.
Awoniyi thanked the Association for its support in the last election, disclosing that they would be carried along in governmentโs plans and policies as it affects their Association.
Earlier in her remarks, Chief Mrs. Caroline Adegboye, Kogi State President, Association of Traders and Market leaders Association of Nigeria, said their support and endorsement for Capt Idris Wada is occasioned by his developmental efforts in providing essential services to the people.
The associations president listed the administrations rural health programme, completion of projects left abandoned and others inherited and efforts in improving infrastructures as some of the reasons behind the associations support for the governor, urged him to continue with the good work he has begun in transforming the state.
Mrs. Adegboye solicited the administrationโs support for empowerment for members of the Association, described the present leadership in the State as visionary, and one that is committed to uplifting the living standard of the people amidst dwindling financial resources accruing to the state.
