The Kogi State Pension Board has announced the extension of its ongoing verification exercise for pensioners across the state until July 30, 2025.

In a statement issued by Mr. Adurodija Ebenezer, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the decision to extend the verification period was made to ensure that all eligible individuals are accurately verified and included in the pension disbursement process.

Originally scheduled to conclude on July 15, 2025, the verification exercise will now continue until the end of the month. This extension provides additional time for all pensioners, particularly those who may have encountered challenges in completing their verification, to participate without undue stress.

Hajia Mariam Abedo, Director-General of the Kogi State Pension Board, emphasized the Board’s commitment to ensuring that pensioners receive their benefits seamlessly.

She stated, “This extension reflects our dedication to transparency, inclusivity, and the well-being of our retirees, who have devoted their lives to serving the state.”

Pensioners are encouraged to take note of the following important points regarding the verification process:

  1. Visit any bank convenient for you with your Bank Verification Number (BVN).
  2. It is not mandatory to go to the bank where you hold an account.
  3. If you are currently outside the state, you are not required to travel back for verification.
  4. There are no fees associated with the verification process.
  5. Biometric capturing is required for all participants.
  6. Pensioners residing outside the country should send their travel documents (including the data page, visa page stamped at the point of departure and arrival, phone number, and location) to the following email address: kgspencom2023@gmail.com.
