The Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in charge of Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, Comrade Obas Adesina has been unanimously appointed the interim Chairman of the Kogi State Forum of Coordinators.
This is contained in a press statement signed by the Director of Media and Publicity to the Forum, Yabagi Mohammed and copies made available to the Media.
According to the statement, the Ogori/Magongo coordinator is expected to hold the position for the period of sixty days until when a substantive Chairman would emerge.
Comrade Obas took over from the immediate past Chairman and coordinator for Lokoja Local Government Area, Comrade Abdullahi Adamu who handed over mantle of leadership today, Wednesday 22 January, 2020.
In his acceptance speech, Comrade Adesina expressed gratitude to his colleagues for finding him worthy to serve as their interim head and showered encomium on Comrade Abdullahi who he says is his mentor in the struggle.
Even as he said the shoes of the immediate past chairman was too big to fill, he appealed for the support and guidance of Comrade Abdullahi and his colleagues within the period he is to occupy the office.
He however promised to do his best to represent the forum effectively and efficiently so as to justify the confidence reposed in him by his colleagues.
Comrade Obas Adesina promised to emulate the leadership qualities of his predecessor which include charisma, transparency, uprightness and steadfastness which has earned him accolades among his colleagues and even outside the council’s circles.
The interim Chairman further promised to evolve means that would enthrone a successful election for the forum to succeed him at the end of his short stay in office.
He also congratulated the newly sworn in coordinator for Lokoja LGA and his team and wished them them the best in office.
