Kogi State Ministry of Environment to Partner Lagos Waste Agency

Kogi State ministry of environment has assured of its readiness to partner with the Lagos Waste Management Agency (LAWMA). 

The state Commissioner of Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye stated this when he visited the agency with his team in Lagos. 

The commissioner explained that the visit was to learn from the vast experiences and expertise of LAWMA to help Kogi fight environmental related problems. 

Omofaiye who stated that the “study tour” was also to seek synergy between the agency and his ministry, said the move was in line with the new direction government’s environmental blueprint. 

He was received by the Lagos state Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Mr Tunji Bello; Special Adviser, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources, Engineer Joe Igbokwe; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of the Environment, Mrs Belinda Aderonke Odeneye and Permanent Secretary, Office of Drainage Services and Water Resources, Engr Olalekan Shodeinde amongst other top government officials.

Omofaiye appreciated the agency for their warm reception and added that environment is a gift from God which requires collective preservation. He acknowledged the level of achievement attained by LAWMA, hence their visit to discover the secrets.

The Lagos waste management authority assured the Kogi state Commissioner for environment and his team of their technical support in their efforts to establish a well reformed waste management system in Kogi state.
