The Kogi State government policy of integrated development in the area of educational development as enshrined in the New Direction blueprint has continued to receive commendation from stakeholders in the education Industry.
This revelation was made known today at the PPP Gap/ Needs assessment visit by the Kogi State Bureau for Public Private Partnerships (BP3) to Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa.
The Director General of the Bureau, Arc. Roberts Achanya reiterated the desire of the Kogi State government under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello to create enabling environment for investors to partner in developing infrastructure in the state.
The BPPP team conducted Infrastructure assessment of the institution and identified students hostels, staff housing, recreation facilities, water provision as the possible areas of PPP intervention in the institution.
He particularly appealed to the management of the institution to support the present government of Kogi State in its desire to move Kogi State into prosperity. He presented a copy of the Kogi State Development Blueprint and PPP Law to the Provost. The DG also donated copies of PPP literature authored by him with some communication materials of the Bureau.
In his address of welcome, the Acting Provost of the College of Education Ankpa, Dr. Joseph A. Onimisi, expressed the willingness of the institution to take advantage of opportunities the government is creating. He particularly thanked the BP3 team for their visit and assured the government of the continued support of his institution.
The Registrar of the Institution Mr. Drisu Okai in his vote of thanks applauded the vision and commitment of Governor Bello for bringing proactive ideas into governance through the New Direction policy in PPP. He added that the Management of the COE will do the needful and meet the Bureau’s timeline on the PPP needs of the college, including the establishment of the PPP Desk with a competent desk officer.
