The second edition of Alhaji Ibrahim Hussain Memorial Novelty Match Finals takes center stage on November 28, 2024, in Idah, Kogi State.
The event, according to a statement signed by the convener, Chief Barbara Eleojo Jitoboh, will herald the long week educational empowerment program initiated by the Barbara Eleojo Jitoboh Foundation.
The Barbara Eleojo Jitoboh Foundation had last year December launched ‘One Kogi Project’ designed to empower women and youth across the state.
“The Memorial Novelty Match is in memory of my beloved father, Alhaji Ibrahim Hussein whose legacies live on,” she said.
The annual memorial football tournament, according to the statement, was created to foster unity, social cohesion, and youth development through sports.
The statement said the soccer match will not only provide healthy well-being of the participants, but also expose talents and create an avenue for networking, grassroots empowerment, community mobilization connecting communities, giving back to the communities, bridging gaps and building the future.
The event is scheduled to hold on the 28th of November 2024, and will kick start by 2 pm, at Qua Ibo Primary School Field in Idah, Kogi state.
The statement added that a cash prize of N250, 000 will be given to the winner, with N150,000 for second position, N100,000 to the 3rd position while N50,000 will be awarded the 4th position respectively.
