Kogi State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Comrade Gabriel Arome Adoji has charged young Kogi students to take charge of their destinies.

Adoji gave the charge while addressing senior secondary school students in Lokoja on Thursday.

The event was part of Adoji’s sensitization tour among the next generation of leaders between the ages of 13 and 20.

The commissioner educated his young listeners on the importance of being obedient to constituted authorities at home and in the larger society, the need to be determined and focus, the act of collaboration and teamwork. He equally stressed the dangers of drug abuse, illicit sex, moral decadence, crime, social vices and ungodliness.

He assured the students that Governor Yahaya Bello is not out to dehumanize or frustrate any civil servant in Kogi State. He explained the cause and steps taken to resolve the current challenges civil servants are faced with.

Comrade Adoji, who has been redeployed to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, reassured the young youth that Governor Bello is currently working tirelessly to ensure that their parents and family members who are genuine civil servants get their entitlements in no distant time.

“I speak as a member of the Kogi State Executive Council, Governor Bello will put smiles on all our faces soon. Quote me anywhere,” he said.

Government Science Secondary School, Muslim Community Secondary School, Bishop Delise College, all in Lokoja are the schools visited so far.
