Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Matthew Kolawole has paid for the registration of 172 candidates for JAMB examination that is scheduled to hold soon.
In a statement issued by his chief press secretary, Femi Olugbemi, the Speaker said since it has become evident that government can no longer do it alone he has to make education as one of his priorities.
He said, in line with his campaign promises, he has decided to bankroll the payment of JAMB registration for students who are willing and ready to pursue his or her academic career in higher institutions.
Kolawole said the list of the beneficiaries is devoid of party sentiment, hence he decided to route it through the student’s union of Kabba and Bunu districts to forwards at least 10 students per wards in the 15 wards of the constituency, while Ebira, Igbo, other communities and person living with disability (PLWD) were also considered.
