Kogi Speaker Leads ‘G7 for GYB 2019’ to Obaro of Kabba

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has led a group of young politicians called G7 for GYB 2019 in Kogi West Senatorial District to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman of Okun Area Traditional Council on courtesy call with other royal fathers of Kabba/Bunu Local Government in attendance to brief them on the activities of the group.

Kolawole while briefing the Royal Fathers said as the traditional leaders of the communities in the area,  it is very important to keep them abreast of the mission of the group in the local government before going on with the assignment as scheduled.

The Speaker said the group with representatives of the seven local government areas of the senatorial district as members is on a sensitization mission to inform the people on the activities of GYB administration in the state.

According to him, it has become imperative for the group to embark on such assignment to correct many disinformation and rumours being peddled around by the opposition just to discredit the giant efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello.

He further said the group will be going round to meet with critical stakeholders across the seven local government areas stressing that the group commenced its activities in Kabba/Bunu being the senatorial headquarters.

The Speaker said, there is need for the people to support the reelection bid of Governor Yahaya Bello for him to consolidate on his giant strides, noting that whatever negative stories being peddled in the news is the handiwork of the opposition.

He said the salary issues will soon be a thing of the past, pointing out that arrangements are in top gear for the balance of the 30 billion naira bailout to be released for the payment of the outstanding workers salaries.

Also speaking, Kogi ALGON Chairman and Administrator of Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon Taufik Isah specially appreciated and commended the Obaro of Kabba for his purposeful leadership in Okunland, noting that his efforts have gone a long way to reposition the area.

According to him, he salute his courage to say the truth even when it is difficult , noting that Okun nation need people like him to move forward.

He said it is not a sin for traditional rulers to support government in power, stressing that without that development might be a bit difficult to achieve, urging the people of the area to see reason to support the second term bid of the Governor.

The Coordinator of the group, Mr Dan Asabe from Lokoja Local Government commended the Royal Fathers for his dexterity in providing leadership for the area.

He said their mission in the area is simple, which is, to meet with various stakeholders with the message of hope from Governor Yahaya Bello.

He said they are in the local government to sensitize the people on the need to keep them abreast of the happenings in government.

Welcoming them to his palace, Oba Solomon Owoniyi commended the group for the laudable initiative to get the people informed about the programs and policy of government, noting that politics should not be a do or die affair.

He said as a community leader that have the responsibility to maintain peace in his domain he is duty bound to work closely with the government in power, noting that aside the fact, the current administration was the one that rewrote the distorted history of Kabba (Owe) land and thus,he is prepared to continue to give his absolute cooperation and support to the new direction administration.

He said, he will continue to remain grateful to Governor Yahaya Bello for his wisdom in allowing God to use him to bring permanent peace to Kabba community on Obaro tissue.

He said he has lost so many friends because of GYB which according to him, he has no apology to give to anyone rather he will continue to encourage the people to support the government for them to deliver on their mandate.
