Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Matthew Kolawole has felicitated with and congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the commencement of this year’s Ramadan fasting program.
The Speaker believes that the one month fasting exercise will bring about the spiritual upliftment of the Muslims which will engender the well-being and turnaround in not only their personal life but that of the state and the nation at large.
In a press release signed by his chief press secretary, Femi Olugbemi, the Speaker said the annual spiritual exercise, which is one of the five pillars of Islam, will contribute not only to their spiritual wellbeing but that of the society.
He said the period of Ramadan being a season of discipline and sacrifice, will give the Muslims another opportunity to reflect on the essence of living a Holy life that edify the faith.
He charged the Muslims to use the season to pray for the state and the nation to witness greater growth in all ramifications, urging them to imbibe the lessons learnt from the one- month spiritual exercise.
He therefore, on behalf of the members, management and staff of the Kogi State House of Assembly wish to felicitate with the entire Muslims across Nigeria on the commencement of Ramadan this year, 2019.
