Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole has admonished the people of Itobe community in Ofu Local Government Area of the state to vote enmass for the All Progressives Congress (APC) come November 16 governorship election.
The Speaker gave the admonition yesterday at the residence of the Deputy Legal Adviser of APC, Barrister Ndamodu Ali in Itobe on his way back from Ankpa Federal Constituency rally.
He commended the people of the community for the consistent support they are giving the new direction administration under the leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello, stressing that the reception accorded him is heartwarming.
According to him, he never knew Itobe community is as big as what he saw while driving into the community, pointed out that Barrister Ndamudu Ali is a well known and upright personality to him.
He commended the member representing Ofu State Constituency in the House, Hon. Amodu Seidu Sushi, aka Oil and Gas, for his lobby prowess, stressing that it was in Anyigba he whispered to him that he wanted him to see his people and because of the respect he has for him, he obliged to stop over.
He urged the people to continue to give their support and cooperation to the current administration in the state, noting that it is only the person that bring development to their community that is doing any agenda.
He assured the people that the 7th Assembly under his watch will give accelerated support to any development initiatives moved by their representative on the floor of House to fast track the development of Itobe community.
He said the current administration in the state has done a lot in the area of security, infrastructure development especially in the eastern parts of the state, education, and health hence the need for the community to vote enmass for APC come November 16.
He urged the youths of the community to remain supportive to the APC as the success of the party in the forthcoming poll will go a long way to provide more opportunities for them in terms of appointment, employment and development for the community.
Speaking earlier, Hon (Barr.) Ndamodu Ali commended the Speaker for the love he has for Itobe community and GYB/CEDO, noting that despite the short notice, he was able to come.
He noted that his visit is symbolic owing to the fact that since the creation of the state in 1991, he will be the first senior government official of his status to visit Itobe community.
He further said that the community is also privileged for the first time to produce the member representing Ofu State Constituency at the House of Assembly.
He also noted that Hon. Amodu Seidu Sushi aka Oil and Gas is a worthy son of Itobe community, pointing out that since he assumed office, his impact has been felt in all ramifications in the community.
He assured the Speaker and other members at the gathering that Itobe community will deliver their votes en mass for the APC in the governorship election, stressing that the former Chief of Staff, now the Deputy Governor, Chief Edward David Onoja has visited earlier, promising that the community will not fail.
Other members in the entourage include, Hon Musa Jimoh of Yagba East, Hon Ademola Bello of Mopamuro, Hon Aderonke Aro of Yagba West and Hon Amodu Seidu of Ofu.
