Kogi SDP Members Pass Confidence Vote on State Chairman, Mouktar Atimah

The leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the Eastern senatorial district of Kogi State has passed a vote of confidence on the present chairman of the party, Alh. Mouktar Atimah.

The confidence vote was contained in a statement signed by the Vice Chairman of the Eastern senatorial district, Mr M. Ibrahim on behalf of the chairmen of all the nine local government areas from the senatorial district.

The statement described the ascension of Atimah to the chairmandhip position of the party as a blessing to the party and its members, saying that his tenure has achieved a lot in the cohesion of members, adding that he is a square peg in a square hole.

He commended the Chairman for taking time to visit the twenty one local governments in the state to have a first hand information on the affairs of the party.

The leadership of the zone also expressed its confidence that the present leadership in the state can lead the party to win the state gubernatorial elections come November 16th this year.

Meanwhile, the leadership of the party in the state has called on members to disregard a stakeholders meeting purportedly being called by one Philip Idakwo Sanni, saying that it is illegal.

The party leadership maintained that for any of such meeting to take place, it must be ordered by the appropriate organ of the party in the state, adding that the convener of the purported meeting scheduled for Saturday has no power to do so and as such should be disregarded by genuine members of the party.
