…Royal fathers not speaking the minds of Kogi people.

Traditional Rulers from Kogi State said to have been allegedly enlisted by Governor Yahaya Bello to present a letter passing a vote of confidence on the performance of the governor to President Muhammadu Buhari to boost his chances of reelection have been asked to have a rethink and not mortgage the interest of the state.

Commodore Folusho Daniels (rtd), State Coordinator Save Kogi Movement, stated this in a statement made available to pressmen in Lokoja, asked the traditional rulers, who ought to be fathers to all, to weigh their actions as they would not be speaking the minds of their people.

Daniels described the proposed visit to Mr President by the selected traditional rulers with a prepared speech as a function of coercion that is does not reflect the minds of the people.

He described the planned visit of traditional rulers as one that is forcefully done by the governor to get relevance having failed in providing good governance.

According to the Save Kogi Movement, “It is unfortunate that for a state that is battling myriads of challenges caused by poor leadership in the last three and half years, traditional rulers who are aware of the sufferings of their citizens, who have had to live a life of penury, would allow themselves to be used.”

The Save Kogi Movement urged Mr. President to see the visit of the Kogi Traditional Rulers as another gimmick geared towards painting a bad situation currently experienced in the state as good.

Commodore Daniels drew the attention of President Mohammadu Buhari to the several speeches and interview granted by HRM Dr Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, and leader of the delegation that would visit Mr President, to the failure of the governor Yahaya Bello’s administration in the state in the past and urged Mr. President to juxtaposed his past remarks to the content of his prepared and handed speech which will certainly not be a true reflection of state of things in Kogi State.

While calling on President Mohammadu Buhari to see the visit of the traditional rulers as another game plan to mislead Mr. President on the happenings in Kogi state, he lamented the sacrifice of integrity above the interest of the state by the enlisted traditional rulers.

The Save Kogi Movement described the Traditional Rulers planned visit as a visit of strange bed fellows who would not be speaking the minds of Kogi people. He urged Mr. President to take their prepared speech given to them with a pinch of salt.

Commodore Daniels cautioned the traditional rulers co-opted to visit Mr. President on the need to be mindful and not mortgage the state’s interest for pecuniary gains.

While noting that Mr. President is known all over the world as representing integrity, Daniels urged him not to be deceived by the sweet coated speech that the Traditional Rulers from Kogi state would present to him when they visit him on Wednesday as it is not a true reflection of the yearning and aspiration of Kogi People.
