The management of Kogi State Polytechnic has described the first lady, Hajia Rashida Bello as a role model for young women and girls through her resourceful nature and humane disposition to alleviating the plight of others.

In a message signed by the rector, Dr. Salisu Ogbo Usman, the polytechnic hailed the first lady for her unique pet project, KOWYAF, which has record profound positive impacts in the lives of many across the state.

“On behalf of the Governing Council, Academic Board, Management, Staff and Students of Kogi State PoIytechnic, Lokoja, I specially and sincerely felicitate with Her Excellency, the First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Rashida Bello, on the auspicious occasion of her birthday. 

“Your Excellency, Ma, we specially celebrate  you today not just because of the sheer number of years spent, but also for  the immutable quality in those years as reflected in the exemplary and enviable support you have seemlessly provided Your Husband, Our Boss and Dear Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

“Through thick and thin, you have been there resolutely by his side, and this has enormously assisted in the provision of the most resourceful leadership for our dear State.

“In addition, Ma, we celebrate you because your wonderful and pacesetting pet project: “Kogi Women and Youth Advancement Foundation”(KOWYAF), has recorded profound positive impacts in the lives of women, babies, the poor and the needy across our dear State.

“We sincerely appreciate such disposition which we are sure will motivate other privileged individuals into conceiving and executing projects that would assist in turning around the plight of the needy in our society.

“As humanity unites to celebrate you today, it is our earnest prayer that Almighty Allah continues to shower you with His unique favour and more blessings in the years ahead. May this new year of your life be a reason for the celebration of more grandest milestones in better health, peace and harmony,” the statement read.

In the same vein, the State Commissioner for Works and Housing, Engr. Abubakar Ohere, in a congratulatory message to the First Lady, extolled her virtues, describing her as a “towering pillar of support to her husband, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello.

The Commissioner applauded the various philanthropic gestures undertaken by Mrs. Bello, noting that she carried them out with quiet grace and deep compassion.

He specifically praised Mrs. Bello’s Kogi Women and Youth Advancement Foundation (KOWYAF) which provide interventionist measures towards assisting both the needy, less privileged, women, babies, youth and the men in the society.

“As the Mother of the state, you have done so much to impact the lives of the vulnerable and less-privileged persons in our society through your compassionate programmes.

“Your Kogi Women And Youth Advancement Foundation (KOWYAF) have become vehicle of goodwill and hope to Women, Children and other needy persons across the state as you continue to mobilise resources to support their well-being.”

Ohere also commended Mrs. Bello for being a role model for other women to emulate in conceiving programmes that would help vulnerable people in their respective communities.

While wishing Mrs. Bello a joyous and memorable birthday, Engr. Ohere also prayed that Almighty Allah to continually showering her with divine favour and more blessings as her years increases.
