Kogi Poll: Veteran Journalist, Durojaiye Hassan Emerge APGA Deputy Gov’ship Candidate

General Manager Business and Strategy at Blueprint Newspapers, Mr. Durojaiye Hassan has been unveiled as the deputy governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November governorship election in Kogi state.

The former Manager Research, Sales and Marketing at Leadership Newspapers was unveiled in Lokoja on Friday.

Durojaiye will run on a joint ticket with APGA governorship candidate, Sheik Ibrahim Jibril.

In his acceptance speech, Durojaiye said he is humbled by his nomination. He said his nomination is a call to rescue the people of Kogi state from poverty.

“I am humbled that Governorship candidate of our great party found me worthy of his trust and confidence. I accept this call to service with humility. A call to duty to rescue our people from imposed poverty. A call to improve quality of lives of the citizenry and a call for the restoration of hope of the people of state,” he said.

Born on 7th October 1970, Durojaiye Hassan attended Maa’adi L.G.E.A Primary School, Lokoja between 1973-1979. He obtained a bachelors degree from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1991. He added a MBA degree at University of Ado-Ekiti in 1999 and Masters of Art in human resources management from the University of Wolverhampton in the United Kingdom in 2008. He hails from Ife-Olukotun, Yagba East local government area of Kogi state.

Between 2008-2009, Durojaiye worked at Leadership Newspapers group as manager, research, sales and marketing). Between 2011-2012, he served AGM sales and distribution before he was assigned to special projects in the Leadership Newspapers. In 2016, he joined Business Day Media Ltd as General Manager business development before moving to Blueprint Newspapers Ltd in 2017 where he served as General Manager business and strategy.
