A former Deputy Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Hon. Isa Omade has commended electorate in Kogi State for electing Alhaji Ahmed Usman as the fifth democratically elected of the State.
Speaking during an exclusive interview with journalists on Monday, Omade stated that the victory of Alhaji Ododo was well deserved, adding that, it will further liberate the people from politicians who are working against the interest of Kogi State.
Omade, who was the Director General, Independent Campaign Council, (ICC) for Ododo/Joel in the just concluded Governorship election commended Kogites for voting against ethnics lines, stressing that, the outcome of the poll totally reflects the will of the people.
While eulogizing the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC), security agents for their professional conducts before, during and after the poll, the All Progressive Congress, (APC) Chieftain in Kogi State noted that, the ICC worked vigorously to ensure, their candidate emerged winner in the election.
Continuing, Omade said “The 2023 Governorship poll in Kogi State is the most violent free, fair and credible election in the history of our State. Before the poll, their where fears, anxiety of what might play out at the end of the election.
” But look at the outcome of the election, nothing of such happened. Look, let me tell Nigerians how we got the block votes from Kogi Central. We all know that having the largest numbers of Local Government does not transform into voting on election day.
“It might interest Nigerians to note that, the Independent Campaign Council, (ICC) for Ododo/Joel went to various States across the Country to appeal to registered voters in Kogi Central but residing in other States to come back home and vote for Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo, a Man with capacity who has what it takes to consolidate the good work of our principal Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
” Eligible voters from Kogi Central all listen to our appeals, as they on their own board hundreds of buses, came back home to ensure that our party wins the election. I want Kogites to note that there was nothing such as manipulation of Kogi Central votes. All the votes recorded in Kogi Centra are genuine votes from electorates who have seen the good work of APC in Kogi State.
” ICC is using this medium to commend the people of Kogi West and East for also believing in the unity of Kogi State and not looking into the lines of those championing ethnic politics rather than competency, positive agenda and ability to deliver true dividend of democracy.
” I can assure all and sundry, that our incoming Governor Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo will do well for the people of Kogi State. Before now, there are reports that the Governor of Borno State Prof. Zulum is one of the best in Nigeria. Somebody has come to bench him. That person is the incoming Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo the flower.
“Before he became Governor elect, Alhaji Ododo has done alot for the people of Kogi State. No wonder, our Principal Alhaji Yahaya Bello sees him as the best person to sustain his good legacies in Kogi State. Kogites should await the best and one of the most tremendous transformation in Kogi State history in the next couple of years”.
Omade, however, appealed to aggrieved individuals in Kogi State as it regards the outcome of the general election to sheathe their swords and work closely with the Governor elect for the interest, peace and development of Kogi State and Nigeria in general.
