The political class in kogi state have been told to imbibe the selfless spirit of late senator Ahmed Tijani Ahmed, which made him a political rallying point for the people of the state.

This call was made by Professor Olugbemiro Akerejola, during the eleventh year anniversary of A. T Ahmed, organized by Senator A. T. Consultative Forum.

He  described the late Senator A. T Ahmed as not only an icon in Kogi State politics, but the entire nation, noting  that he was a unifying factor in Kogi State whose political ally cut across the three Senatorial Districts of the state.

Professor Akerejola mentioned the likes of late Dr Steven Achema who had collaborated with the leader in their attempt to reposition the state.

Others who he said held Senator Ahmed in high esteem as a result of his detribalized leadership style are Dr Steven Olorunfemi, Sheikh Abdulkadiri and late Salihu Otaru Ohize who he said was a pivot around which issues of A.T Ahmed revolved in Kogi Central.

On his part, Elder Idris Anako, the Coordinator of the forum called on Kogi State political class to translate the love they have forthe late leader into making sure that the state is taken out of the woods.

In his words, “the agenda of peace and all-inclusive governance of Kogi State was what Senator Ahmed had set and struggled to attain before his death. It is instructive to reflect on the fact that since we failed to plan effectively towards the realisation of this lofty agenda, whichever it has come a decade after the death of our leader, we all have moral obligation to align with the essence of the agenda”.
