Kogi PDP Chieftains Ask Court to Nullify Ward Congress

Two chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Honourable Isha Shaba Ibrahim and Honourable Aliyu Ibrahim,  have dragged the national secretariat of the party to an Abuja High Court, seeking the nullification of the ward congress held in Lokoja/Koto federal constituency on November 1.

The party chieftains, according to the affidavit they filed before the court, were insisting that the ward congresses did not take place in accordance with the guidelines of the party, adding that indeed, no election was conducted at the wards throughout the constituency.

Joined in the suit were the chairman, electoral committee for Kogi State, Chief Maxwell Okudoh, Mr Bashir Awoterebo, chiarman, Kogi electoral appeal panel and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The plaintiff were seeking a court declaration that no valid delegates congress was conducted by the electoral committee in Kogi Local Government on November 1 and an order declaring null and void, any result so generated from the results that purportedly emanated from the said election.
