Kogi NUJ to Honour Ekinrin-Adde Monarch, Edward Jatto, Arome Salifu, Others at 2023 Press Week

Ahead of the 2023 Press Week, the Kogi State council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has announced names of its award recipients.

Addressing a press conference in Lokoja on Tuesday, Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Adeiza Momohjimoh, said the Olu Ade of Ekinrin-Adde, His Royal Majesty, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye CON and the member representing Ajaokuta Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem will be honoured with NUJ’s Community Service Award.

Other recipients are Alhaji Ahmed Omeiza Abdullahi, a retired Director, State Security Services; a renowned Broadcast Engineer and Chief executive officer of Jatto FM, Okene, Engineer Isezuo Edward Jatto; Chief Executive Officer, Africa Youth Growth Foundation (AYGF), Dr. Arome Salifu and Engineer Idah Daikwo of the Federal Ministry of Works, Abuja.

Alhaji Adeiza who said the press week is the last lap of such exercise of the current administration, noted that the exercise will commence with a Muslim prayer on Friday eleventh of this Month.

The NUJ Chairman noted that the Juma’at prayer will be followed with a Christian prayer on Sunday, August 12.

At the grand finale scheduled to hold on Wednesday, 16th August, 2023, the Chairman said there will be a public presentation of a book titled: ‘Media Development in Kogi State (1991- 2023).

“The book is essentially put together to give an overview account of how the media industry has fared in Kogi State since its creation. The 324 page book will be most useful to Communications students in the tertiary institutions and it will as well be very useful to Journalists, media researchers and the reading public,” he said.

Comrade Momohjimoh further stated that the State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON will be the distinguished guest of honour while the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Associate Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman is the Chairman of the occasion.

National President of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Chief Chris Isiguzo, will be the chief host while the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo will serve as co-host.
