Kogi NMA Hails Dr Muyi Aina’s Appointment as Executive Secretary NPHCDA

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Kogi state chapter, has applauded Dr Muyi Aina’s appointment as the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer, National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) by President Bola Tinubu.

In statement released on Saturday by Kogi State NMA SOC under the leadership of Dr Olusola Baoku, the professional body described the appointment of Dr Aina as well deserved following his experience and immense contribution to the development of the health sector in Nigeria.

According to Baoku, this appointment is one of a kind, and an attestation to the exceptional qualifications and capabilities of Dr. Aina who stands tall as one of the very best in his field, not only in Nigeria, but across the world.

“At last, a Kogi indigene is to head the National Primary Health Care Development Agency. This is a welcome development and we are really happy as a professional body in the health sector.

“Kogi state doctors are very proud of your hitherto achievements in public health sector both home and abroad and now that you are saddled with a greater responsibility, we have no iota of doubt that you are the best suited for the job at this time and your choice is that of a round peg in a round hole.

“With this appointment, we are certain that the future of Nigeria’s Primary Health Care delivery is highly secured in safest of hands. We wish you all the very best sir,” he said.

Dr. Muyi Aina is a globally renowned public health leader with a Masters in Public Health degree from Harvard University (USA) and a Doctorate degree from Johns Hopkins University (USA), following his first medical certification at the University of Ilorin.

The new NPHCDA boss was the first runner up in the last Kogi West senatorial primary election of All Progressives Congress (APC)

He hails from Egbe in Yagba West local government area of Kogi state.
