Kogi State Project Coordinator of Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP), Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto has been commended for her giant strides in the environment sector of the state.
The Chairman of the Movement of Peaceful and Equitable Governance in Nigeria (MOPEGON), Chief Bola Benjamin Fejuku gave the commendation during a conferment of merit award on the NEWMAP boss in Lokoja on Friday.
Fejuku recalled Jatto’s qualities as an environmentalist especially, between 2012-2015, when she served as Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Environment.
According to Fejuku, her envious performance during the 2012 floods in Kogi state and how she single-handedly facilitated the visit of the then United Nations Under Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Baroness Valerie Amos to Kogi State for an on-the-spot assessment of the flood disaster were among some of her achievements that qualified her for the merit award.
Barr. Jatto, in her response, commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his untiring support to Kogi NEWMAP, stating also that the award is another call to service and a renewed dedication to duty.
