Ahead of local government elections in Kogi state, a chairmanship aspirant for Ajaokuta Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulraman Danasabe has said his priority will be job creation and empowerment of the youths, women and the artisans in the area.
Danasabe, who made the pledge while speaking with pressmen in Lokoja recently, said as an astute business man and a grassroot politician he would employ his vast experience to harness the untapped abundant resources in the local government for its development.
He said,  if given the opportunity to serve,  he would empower  youths through his self skill acquisition programmes if he emerge as the Ajaokuta council boss.
The chairmanship hopeful who is aspiring under the platform of APC, told journalists  that he was driven by his passion for the people to seek the elective office just as he expressed  confidence that with God on his side and the support of the party leaders, he “stands to emerge as the party’s flag bearer.”
He said: “My major priority if elected is to empower the youths through skills acquisition, assist our women with soft loans to improve their businesses and harness the untapped abundant resources in the local government for its development. Ajaokuta local government is rich and if we are able to harness its abundant resources, we don’t need to depend on what comes from the federation account.
“We appeal to politicians to play by the rules of the game as power belongs to God. We must play the game according to the tenets of democracy, which is politics without bitterness”
