Crime has become so mean in Nigeria that men of the underworld no longer fear places of worship while perpetrating their evil.
A recent incident is the case of Miss. Ebiloma, a lady that worshipped with an orthodox church in Agwodaba Okpo, who was raped to death after attending a vigil at ‘Uleju Ojo’ Power House, New Jerusalem, Ankpa.
A press statement released by Evangelist Enechojo Agene of ‘Uleju Ojo’ Power House Ankpa indicates that lady Ebiloma had gone to rest in a structure opposite the church after the vigil when the hoodlums struck.
It noted that the hoodlums abducted the lady, led her to the bush and raped her to death.
Evangelist Agene further said the body of the deceased was recovered from the bush when a search was conducted after the hoodlums ran away.
He added that the matter was reported to the police in Ankpa for investigation.
Meanwhile, Evangelist Agene had described the barbaric manner the lady was hacked to death as gruesome. He called on the God of heaven to visit vengeance on the perpetrators of the evil.
The Evangelist also called on security agents to mount surveillance in the area, stating that the evil men must not go unpunished.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Elvis Aguebor said that the matter has not been reported to the state headquarters of the command.
