Kogi Judiciary, Revenue Service Ready to Synergize With Health Insurance Scheme

Kogi state Acting Chief Judge, Justice Henry Olusiyi has applauded Governor Yahaya Bello for establishing the state health insurance agency, saying the state judiciary is prepared to synergize with the agency in her health package programme.

In a similar vein, the leadership of Kogi State Internal Revenue Service has also assured that it would collaborate with the agency to enable her staff benefit from her health package.

These assurances were given when the executive secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare paid a sensitization visit to the state Judiciary and Kogi State Internal Revenue Service in Lokoja.

The state chief Judge said “Governor Bello has taken a giant stride in the health sector by establishing the agency.”

He added that “when the agency commences operation it would provide quality health care services for the people of the state.”

On his part, the chairman Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, Mallam Aliyu Salami said the human resources and finance department will liaise with the insurance agency to enable the revenue agency staff key into the scheme.

Mallam Salami said the scheme when fully operational will reduce medical tourism in the state adding that it would also go a long way in improving the health care services in the state.

Earlier the executive secretary of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency, Dr.  Adekunle Aledare told the leadership of the judiciary and that of the revenue service that the health benefit package of the agency will cover for the health needs of all the residents of the state who enrol in the scheme.   

Dr Aledare thanked the leadership of the two agencies for the warm reception accorded his team. He urged them to continue to collaborate with the agency to enable the state attain the universal health coverage by year 2030.
