Kogi Is Undergoing A Painful Surgery – Fanwo

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo has appealed to the people of Mopamuro Local Government Area of the state to remain steadfast and endure the surgery the State is undergoing after years of “unforgivable dislocation through maladministration”, saying the screening exercise was instituted to “save the State from over-bleeding.”

Fanwo made this call when political appointees met royal fathers, community leaders and party faithful in Mopamuro.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Bola Ampitan and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth, Sports and Students Affairs, Comrade Moses Deola Eseyin had appealed to civil servants to support the efforts of government at cleansing the payrolls of ghost workers.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs said the Governor is prepared to empower Kogi women and ensure social welfare to improve the standards of living of the people.
In the same vein, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Empowerment said the Governor is prepared to make the youth productive members of the society, pledging to drive the youth development initiative of the Governor.
However, the Chief Press Secretary told the different audiences at Mopa, Takete Ide and Orokere that the Governor is aware of the economic challenges faced by Kogites in the course of the staff verification exercise, assuring the people that their troubles will soon be over. He assured the people that the Governor is poised to protect their jobs.
“Governor Yahaya Bello understands what you are going through. Though it is difficult to minister patience to the hungry, the glorious days are almost here.
“The fight against ghost workers must be concerted and sustained in order to free funds for development”.
Also, the Administrator of the Local Government Council, Hon. Moses Sunday Alumo assured the workers that no legitimate worker will be sacked. He said the Governor will ensure process credibility in the exercise.
On Saturday, the team of Mopamuro appointees met with the Local Government APC ecco where the need for unity and cohesion dominate the agenda.
The Women Affairs Commissioner told the party leaders that the era of division was over, harping on the need to come together for a better Mopamuro.
Also speaking at the meeting, the Member representing Mopamuro Constituency in the House of Assembly and a former Council Chair, Hon. Abayomi Pedro Obaro expressed confidence in the desire for peace and unity within the party.
He congratulated the appointees and charged them to be good Ambassadors of the Local Government Area. Hon. Obaro promised to work with the Governor in order to bring development to his people.
The Chairman of APC in Mopamuro Local Government, Hon. Charles Abayomi Omoyele urged the party leaders to come together and called on the appointees to work with the party structure.
