PDP delegates across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state will storm the Confluence Stadium  Lokoja tomorrow 3rd September, 2019 to elect who will fly the party’s flag in the forthcoming gubernatorial election come  November 16th, 2019.

No sane citizen will hate a performing administration. If a government lives up to expectations, we will support such. We must be sincere enough to tell ourselves the truth, looking at how we have lived and fared as a people in  the last four years.

The outcome of the APC Primary last week is a clear testament that the party do not mean well for Kogites, rather to inflict more suffering, hunger and deaths for the next four years, if we permit.

The only alternative to end the suffering brought by Alh. Yahaya Bello directionless administration is the People Democratic Party (PDP) if we can present a sellable, credible and acceptable candidate.

There is no doubt about it that all the aspirants had gone round the entire state telling the people, especially the party delegates, the reasons why they should be voted for as the party’s flag bearer in the coming Governorship
Election in the state.

It is however imperative to stress here that only one person will eventually emerge to be the Governorship candidate of the party at the end of the primary election.

My advice goes to the party leaders and the delegates both at the state and national levels to please put sentiments aside and pick the best candidate that can give a good fight to the incumbent Governor who at all costs, wants to be ‘re-elected’ (as he has not won any election in Kogi State; he only inherited Late Prince Audu’s mandate).

The delegates should not forget that some of the aspirants had been tested before and had not done well as far as Kogi people are concerned.
Therefore, the delegates should avoid any mistake of voting for such candidates who are highly detested by the masses in the state.

The only aspirant who had defeated the incumbent Governor in any election in the state is Senator Dino Melaye. He defeated the incumbent Governor in the senatorial recall even when he was on the sick bed.

This is the reason why the incumbent Governor became jittery when Dino declared his intention to run for the Governorship Election in the state some couple of months ago. The Governor knows very well that Dino will get a landslide victory.

Dear PDP delegates, vote Sen. Dino Melaye, he is the only aspirant that has the shock-absorber, competence, strategies and match to dislodge Yahaya Bello of the  APC at the November poll.

Distinguished Senator Dino Melaye, the Senator representing Kogi West and frontline aspirant of the party, is the best choice among the 13 PDP aspirants jostling for the ticket.

The irreducible minimum for me, should be to provide a level-playing field for all aspirants to test their acceptability among the delegates to the primary election. The party leadership should avoid decisions that could imperil the chances of the PDP in the main election.

While winning to us is not a do or die affair, the process of choosing the party’s standard-flag-bearer should be made unquestionably transparent such that in the end, the outcome would be acceptable to all so that we could stand as one to face the real opponent.

As we prepare for the primary election tomorrow in the PDP, we must all understand that our decisions, choices and actions will determine whether the next four years will be better or worse.
