There have been various arguments for and against which zone should produce the next governor of Kogi State. An objective analysis will obviously show that Idah local government area deserves to take this turn.
Ankpa Federal Constituency had Alhaji Ibrahim Idris for 8 years and 7 months while Dekina had the immediate past governor of the state, Capt. Idris Ichalla Wada.
In this current dispensation, Dekina have Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho (2019 – 2023), Hon Hassan Baiwa, member House of Reps. (2019 – 2023) and the National Woman Leader of APC, Hajia Salamatu Baiwa.
A peep into Idah Federal Constituency consisting of 4 Local Government Areas – Ofu with Hon Zaccharias, Member, House of Reps. (2019 – 2023), Ibaji LG have the Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Hon Simon Achuba, Igalamela/ Odolu LG had the immediate past Minister of Labour, Prof Stephen Ocheni. Hence, Idah is the only local government without either a state or federal presence in terms of political offices.
We strongly believe in the political sagacity of Adams Oshiomhole-led APC National Working committee and the political wisdom of the National Leader of the party, our own indefatigable, untiring Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the tide will turn in favour of the ancient city, seat of Attah of Igala and headquarters of Igalaland and traditional rulers of Kogi State.
