A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State, Hon. Sani Idakwo Philips has applauded Barr Natasha Akpoti, candidate of the Social Democratic Party in the last governorship election in the state for her courage, dedication and determination in salvaging the good people of Kogi State from monumental decay of immense proportion created by Alhaji Yahaya Bello government of the APC.
Idakwo described her as a trail blazer, courageous fighter and one in which the entire party is proud of.
Speaking through a telephone conversation with Kogi Reports on Wednesday, Idakwo described the judgement of the Election Tribunal which ruled against the SDP and its candidate as “pre-determined”, urging Barr Natasha Apkoti not to be deterred by the judgement read out by the 3-man panel of the Tribunal led by its chairman Justice Kashim Kaigama which stated that her petition “was not successful”.
Idakwo further stated that her decision to approach the Court of Appeal with the aim of reversing the judgment of the tribunal was in order and expressed optimism that the appellate court will correct the errors of the tribunal Judges and declare the stolen mandate being enjoyed by the APC and its candidates null and void.
Idakwo used the opportunity to call on well meaning indigenes of the state, irrespective of party affiliations, to join hands with the Social Democratic Party (SDP) and its candidate in ensuring that the reign of impunity, backwardness and all sort of negative tendencies is terminated in the state.
