The National Union of Road Transport Workers (N.U.R.T.W), Kogi Central Zone has endorsed the second term bid of Governor Yahaya Bello.
In a statement issued by Mall. Umar Jamiu on behalf of the executives, the Union lauded the giant strides achieved by Bello’s administration since assumption of office, especially in the Central Senatorial District.
According to Jamiu, the enviable achievements have no doubt endeared Gov. Bello to the hearts of many Kogites, particularly members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in the Central Senatorial District.
“Prior to Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello’s divine installation as the 4th Executive Governor of the state, members of the union had lived in perpetual fear of arm robbery and kidnappers who paraded our roads on daily basis, unleashing terror on drivers and motorists due to the deplorable state of our roads. The state became the den of criminalities while many of our members lost their lives and others sustained various degree of injuries in the process. However, today we are glad the situation have changed for better, issue of kidnapping have been brought under control as transport workers now plight the roads down in the night without fear of criminals.
“Similarly, your government through the ministry of works commenced the construction and rehabilitation of some of the major roads in the Central Senatorial District to ease the free flow of traffic which before now had constituted a major problem in the region.
“Your Excellency, having witnessed these tremendous achievements recorded by your administration in less than 4 years, we are confident that Kogi State is safe, secure and on the path of sustainable development. We therefore wish to pledge our unflinching support towards your re-election come November 16, 2019.
“We promise to repeat the overwhelming victory recorded at the Presidential, National Assembly and State House of Assembly elections as members have been directed to work towards the achievement of this objective in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
“The entire members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (N.U.R.T.W) Kogi Central Zone hereby endorse His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello as the 5th Executive Governor of Kogi State for another term of four years in office,” he said.
