Onu of Ankpa, Alhaji Abdulmalik Umar has warned supporters of political parties to market their candidates in responsible manner and stay off trouble.
The monarch, while reacting to acts of political intolerance exhibited by supporters of opposing party during Governor Yahaya Bello re-election rally in Ankpa on Sunday, issued a strict warning to errant party members.
He frown at the unculture manner in which some political supports came out to obstruct Gov Bello’s rally in the ancient town.
On behalf of Ankpa community, elders and the traditional institution, the monarch apologized to the governor and warned that any supporter of the two major political parties caught obstructing, causing mayhem on other party supporters or the people shall be decisively dealt with in accordance with the law of the land.
“Ankpa LGA is known for peace. I am surprised that some youths would go extreme to disrupt political outing of another. It is highly condemnable and I want to assure His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Bello that such irresponsible act shall not be welcome henceforth,” he said.
He urged everyone to go about their normal activities and pray for a peaceful election on November 16.
